STARTX COMMAND NOT FOUND DEBIAN 9 PC
Rebooted my pc and now I have no Mint graphic login screen, just a terminal. Quit awesome to see that the change worked, got stuck on a black screen.Ĩ. I removed the line in my rc.lua (AwesomeWM) that starts compton at startup so I could run picom.ħ. Built it with no problem, but decided to do something before continuing:Ħ.
STARTX COMMAND NOT FOUND DEBIAN 9 INSTALL
Decided to install picom to use with AwesomeWM so I cloned the repo and started following the steps. If you cannot log in to GUI by 'startx', there may be graphics issues. If GUI is not displayed, press CTRL+ALT+F1 to go back to tty1 (CLI). If GUI is not displayed, press ALT+SysRq+R and then press CTRL+ALT+F7. Installed EmmyLua language server for Emacs lsp-mode, worked like a charm.ĥ. Log in to CLI with non-root user and execute 'startx'.

Installed lua-lsp language server, couldn't get it to work.Ĥ. Removed lua-language-server since it wasn't working properly with Emacs lsp-modeģ. I already reinstall Node.js - I already tried following the steps of the Official Page. bash: npm: command not found I'm a newbie on Debian and I can't understand what's happening. I don't know what caused it, but to be more specific on what I did today from loging in normally to the time I quit AwesomeWM heres what I can remember:Ģ. bash: node: command not found Output for nodejs -v. (usually it appears, then after some seconds it goes to the regular mint login scren but now it just stays there). I rebooted the pc, and suddenly it just gets stuck at that terminal login prompt without showing me the graphical login interface. After that I decided to quit Awesome to login again to see if my changes worked, but it got stuck on a black screen. I was doing some seemingly normal things, changing the config for Emacs and then AwesomeWM. Most WindowManagers also have a method of starting programs when they first startup. So I've been using Mint (20.2) for quite a while, and everything has been perfect until now. If you want the script to be called when ever an X Session is started, then you should instead use ~/.xsession. Note that ~/.xinitrc is only for configuring the initialization of xinit.

# '#' before the previous line and uncomment the # To run Gnome instead of system default, place a Xsetbg -fullscreen /morphix/background.png & # As in all Bash/sh scripts lines starting with The end of Xorg.0.log shows errors about 'modeset' driver and 'EnterVT failed for screen 0'. The same happends when my display manager (sddm) starts the X server or if I start it with 'startx' command.

STARTX COMMAND NOT FOUND DEBIAN 9 UPGRADE
# This file is sourced when running startx and Package: xserver-xorg Version: 1:7.7+19 Severity: important After I upgrade from Debian 9 to Debian 10 the X server does not start at all. xinitrc to run as a shell script to start up client programs If no specific client program is given on the command line, xinit will look for a hidden file in the user's home_directory called. When this first client exits, xinit will kill the X server and then terminate. The xinit program is used to start the X Window System server and a first client program on systems that cannot start X directly from /etc/init or in environments that use multiple window systems. Except for very specific purpose, it shouldn't be necessary to touch xinitrc file. (Under Gnome System Menu > Preferences > session). Note : Modern Desktop environment also have (easier|GUI) session management tools. Translation(s): English - Français - Italiano
